INI-CET Result — How It Is Declared and What Comes Next

What the INI-CET result looks like, how to read your rank and percentile, the qualifying percentile for each category, how ties are broken and the steps after the result. The INICET November 2026 result is expected on 7 November 2026.

Last verified: 30 September 2026 against the AIIMS INI-CET Prospectus Part A (January 2027 session) and the INICET May 2026 result notification.

Quick Answer

AIIMS declares the INI-CET result as a PDF list of provisionally qualified candidates on aiimsexams.ac.in, showing roll number, category, overall rank and percentile. You qualify at the 50th percentile (UR, EWS) or 45th (OBC, SC, ST, PwBD). The INICET November 2026 result is expected on 7 November 2026; seat allocation follows.

When is the INI-CET result declared?

AIIMS prints an expected result date in the prospectus and usually declares the result about a week after the exam.

What does the INI-CET result show?

The result is a long notification — the INICET May 2026 list ran to more than a thousand pages — with two separate lists: one for MD, MS, MCh (6-year) and DM (6-year), and one for MDS. Each row has:

  • Roll number — search the PDF for yours.
  • Category (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) and applied under (General or Sponsored).
  • PwBD status.
  • Rank — your overall INI-CET rank, the number seat allocation uses.
  • Percentile — your position relative to everyone who took the exam.

Only qualified candidates appear in the list, but every candidate — including those who did not qualify — gets a percentile score, visible on MyPage after logging in. The notification also restates the qualifying percentile, the tie-break rules and the seat position that allocation will use.

What does "qualified" mean?

Seat categoryMinimum percentile to qualify
Unreserved (incl. OCI), EWS, Sponsored, Foreign National50th percentile
OBC, SC, ST, PwBD45th percentile
Bhutanese Nationals (PGIMER Chandigarh only)45th percentile

Qualifying is a gate, not a seat. It makes you eligible for online seat allocation, where seats go in rank order. The result is also provisional: it is published on the basis of what candidates entered in the application, without checking eligibility, category or sponsorship certificates. A candidate who fails an institute's eligibility rules is not considered for that institute, and admission can be cancelled even after joining if a discrepancy turns up.

Category claims are checked before seat allocation. If your OBC or EWS certificate is found invalid and your percentile clears the unreserved cut-off, you are treated as Unreserved; if it does not, you are not counted as qualified even though your roll number is on the list.

How are ties broken?

When two or more candidates have the same marks, AIIMS separates them in this order:

  1. Fewer negative marks
  2. Higher percentage in the qualifying degree (MBBS/BDS)
  3. Older by age
  4. Name in alphabetical order

The first rule rewards accuracy: of two candidates on the same score, the one who lost fewer marks to wrong answers ranks higher. It is one more reason not to guess blindly under the −1/3 penalty.

What should you do after the result?

  1. Find your rank and percentile in the notification or on MyPage, and save a copy.
  2. Check your category status. AIIMS emails the result of its preliminary check of OBC/EWS certificates.
  3. Read the seat position. The final seat list is fixed before the result and does not change afterwards.
  4. Watch for the seat allocation brochure and schedule on aiimsexams.ac.in: a mock round, then Round 1, Round 2 and an open round.
  5. Prepare documents and funds — at reporting you deposit original certificates or a demand draft. See the counselling guide.

Which mistakes cost qualified candidates a seat?

  • Not logging in after an allotment. A Round 1 seat is forfeited if you do not actively accept it (Option 1 or 2) within the deadline, and you drop out of Round 2.
  • An invalid category certificate. OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be in the central-government format and issued inside the window the prospectus sets; otherwise you compete as Unreserved.
  • Treating the mock round as final. The mock only shows a likely seat. Choices must be reviewed and locked for Round 1, and they carry into Round 2 unchanged.
  • Missing the open-round deposit. Candidates without a seat must register again and pay the security deposit by the deadline; late payments were not accepted in the last session.
