Quick Answer

A NEET PG college predictor matches your All India Rank against last year's closing ranks. This one uses MCC's official PG Counselling 2025 results (68,818 allotments across 4 rounds) for AIQ, deemed, central university and DNB seats. It marks each seat Likely, Borderline or Reach. State quota seats are not included.
These are 2025 closing ranks, not a guarantee. The seat matrix, number of candidates and choice-filling behaviour change every year, so this year's closing ranks will differ. Use the results to plan choices, and always confirm seats, rules and schedules on mcc.nic.in.

Likely: your rank ≤ 0.9× the seat's first-round closing rank · Borderline: up to 1.1× · Reach: beyond that, but the seat still went to a rank like yours in a later round · Unlikely: every 2025 round closed before your rank.

How does the NEET PG college predictor work?

  1. You enter your NEET-PG All India Rank (AIR) and the category MCC recognises for you. The tool works out which allotted-seat categories you can compete for: Open seats for everyone, plus your own reserved category, plus PwD seats if you are a PwD candidate.
  2. It looks up every 2025 seat group — one institute, one course, one quota and one allotted category — in the filters you picked and reads its closing rank in each round.
  3. Each seat group is marked against its first-round closing rank (usually Round 1) and the furthest rank it reached in any round, using the bands below.
  4. Results are sorted with Likely seats first, most competitive first, 25 to a page.
“First closing” is the closing rank in the earliest round the seat group was allotted; “final closing” is the highest rank it reached in any 2025 round.
LabelRuleWhat it means for choice filling
LikelyYour AIR ≤ 0.9 × first closingComfortably inside last year's range. Still fill it in the order you actually prefer.
BorderlineUp to 1.1 × first closingCould go either way with a small change in seats or candidates.
ReachBeyond that, but ≤ final closingClosed before your rank in the first round, but reopened later through upgrades, resignations or the stray round.
UnlikelyWorse than final closingNo 2025 round reached your rank. Hidden unless you ask for it.

Where does the data come from, and how is closing rank calculated?

MCC publishes a final allotment result PDF after each round of PG Counselling. For 2025 we used these official documents, linked from MCC's PG current events page:

  • Round 1 and the stray round: every allotted row counts as an allotment in that round.
  • Rounds 2 and 3: MCC lists each candidate cumulatively (earlier seat plus this round). Only rows that received a seat in that round — “Fresh Allotted” or “Upgraded” — are counted. Candidates who kept their earlier seat are not counted twice, which is why fewer allotments are counted than rows printed.
  • Closing rank is the highest AIR allotted in that round to one institute + course + quota + allotted category; opening rank is the lowest. Hover a closing rank to see the opening rank and seat count.
  • Left out: Armed Forces Medical Services seats, which are allotted on the AFMS rank rather than the AIR printed in the result. NRI seats are shown only when you choose the NRI quota.
  • Checks: rows were extracted with two independent PDF readers and the counts matched exactly for all 4 documents; random allotments were checked by hand against the PDF text. The data covers 1,836 institutes and 99 MD, MS, diploma and DNB courses.

What were the 2025 AIQ closing ranks by branch?

For a quick sense of range, here are the courses with the most All India Quota Open seats allotted in 2025: the most competitive first-round closing rank anywhere in the country, and the furthest rank the course reached in any round. Use the tool above for your own category, quota and state.

How should I use these results for choice filling?

  • Fill choices in your real order of preference. MCC allots the highest choice available at your rank, so putting a Reach seat above a Likely one costs nothing if you would genuinely prefer it.
  • Check the current year's seat matrix first. A seat group that did not exist in 2025, or had more seats added, will not appear here or will behave differently. See how to read the seat matrix.
  • Understand the rounds, upgrades and resignation rules before you lock choices: the NEET PG counselling guide walks through them.
  • Run your state's counselling in parallel — half of government seats are state quota. See state NEET PG counselling.
  • Still choosing a branch? Compare training, workload and career paths in the NEET PG branch guide. Don't have your rank yet? Estimate it with the NEET PG rank predictor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does this NEET PG college predictor get its data?▼
Only from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). We downloaded MCC's official final allotment result PDFs for PG Counselling 2025 (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and the stray vacancy round) from mcc.nic.in, parsed every row and kept only aggregates: opening rank, closing rank and seats allotted per institute, course, quota and seat category. No names or roll numbers are stored.
Does this predictor cover state quota seats?▼
No. MCC allots All India Quota seats in government colleges, deemed university seats, central university quotas (Delhi University, IP University, AMU, BHU) and DNB seats. The 50% state quota seats are allotted by each state's own counselling authority, which publishes its own results. Use the state counselling guide to find your state's authority.
What do Likely, Borderline and Reach mean?▼
The tool compares your rank with the seat's closing rank in the first round it was allotted. Likely means your rank is at or below 0.9 times that closing rank, Borderline means up to 1.1 times, and Reach means the seat closed earlier in the first round but a later round still allotted it to a rank like yours. Unlikely seats closed before your rank in every round.
Why do closing ranks sometimes go down in a later round?▼
A later-round closing rank only counts candidates allotted fresh or upgraded in that round. If one seat is vacated by resignation or non-joining, it may go to a single top-ranked candidate upgrading from elsewhere, so the later round shows a low closing rank. That is why the tool shows seats allotted per round next to each closing rank.
Will the 2026 closing ranks be the same as 2025?▼
No. Closing ranks move every year with the seat matrix, new colleges and seats, the number of candidates, the paper's difficulty and how candidates fill choices. Treat these as last year's reference points for choice filling, not a promise of any seat. Always check the current seat matrix and results on mcc.nic.in.
Which category should I choose?▼
Choose the category MCC recognises for you. A General candidate is matched against Open seats only. OBC-NCL, EWS, SC and ST candidates are matched against Open seats and seats of their own category. PwD candidates are also matched against Open PwD seats and PwD seats of their own category, exactly as MCC labels allotted categories in its results.
