NEET PG Exam Centres — Test City Allotment and Reporting Rules

NBEMS does not let you choose a NEET PG city: you choose preferred states and NBEMS allots the city and centre. Here is how that works, when you see it, and the rules for reporting on exam day, from the NEET-PG 2026 bulletin.

Last verified: 6 October 2026 against NEET-PG 2026 Information Bulletin (Chapters 6 and 7) and NBEMS NEET-PG page.

Quick Answer

In the NEET PG application you choose 3 preferred Test States (the first must be your correspondence-address state); NBEMS allots the city and centre by computerised, randomised allocation, not first come first served. The decision is final, with no change requests. On exam day the reporting counter closes 30 minutes before the start.

How is the test city decided?

  • •The first preferred Test State must be the state of the correspondence address in the application.
  • •The other two preferred Test States are chosen by the candidate, preferably states neighbouring the correspondence state.
  • •Allocation is computerised: candidates are arranged in a randomised sequence and allotted by their preferences, subject to availability, administrative feasibility and operational requirements. It is not first come, first served, and applying early gives no preference.
  • •There is no test centre in the UT of Chandigarh; a Chandigarh correspondence address is treated as Punjab for allotment.
  • •Choosing preferred states does not give an automatic right to a centre in them.
  • •Reasonable accommodation is provided to PwBD candidates in allotment under applicable rules.

The preferred-state choices are filled in the application and cannot be edited later, as the application form guide explains.

When do you get the city and the centre?

  • •Test city (NEET-PG 2026 bulletin): on or after 11 August 2026, in candidate login on natboard.edu.in, and by email.
  • •Exact centre: on the admit card (the admit card (exact address; the Google Maps location on it is for quick reference only)). The admit card for NEET-PG 2026 came out on 25 August 2026; see the admit card guide.
  • •NBEMS's decision on the test city / centre is final and requests to change it are not entertained on any ground.
  • •NBEMS may allot a centre anywhere in India regardless of preferences, and may move candidates to another centre or nearby city; changes are communicated by email.

NBEMS does not state a list or total number of test cities in the bulletin, so none is given here; check your own candidate login.
