Karnataka NEET PG Counselling — Authority, Quota and Process

Karnataka's state quota PG medical seats are counselled by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). This page covers what we could verify on its official site on 6 October 2026, how the state quota differs from All India Quota, and what to check yourself.

Last verified: 6 October 2026 against Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website.

Quick Answer

Karnataka state quota NEET PG counselling is run by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea. It fills the state’s own PG seats; the other 50% of seats in state government colleges is the All India Quota counselled by MCC.

Who is the counselling authority and where do you register?

What did we verify on the official site?

Read on 6 October 2026:

  • •The KEA home page lists 2026 admission pages for UGCET / UGNEET, PGCET and PG Dental, and carries the authority's contact email and phone numbers.

Not confirmed — check the official site

  • A PG medical (MD / MS) counselling page: the KEA home page did not list one on the verification date, so we cannot confirm KEA's 2026 PG medical schedule, seat matrix, fees or domicile rules.

State quota vs All India Quota

In state government medical colleges, 50% of PG seats form the All India Quota (AIQ), counselled by MCC and open to candidates from every state. The state’s own share is allotted by Karnataka’s authority, with the state’s own eligibility and reservation rules. You can register for both; MCC and the state exchange lists of joined candidates so a seat joined on one side is removed from the other side’s later rounds. Full comparison on the state counselling hub and the MCC counselling page.

What does the process usually look like?

We could not read Karnataka’s 2026-27 PG medical prospectus on its official site, so this is the general sequence most state authorities follow — confirm each step in the state’s own notice:

  1. Registration on the state portal with your NEET-PG details and documents.
  2. Document verification and a state merit list.
  3. Seat matrix, choice filling and locking.
  4. Round-wise allotment and reporting to the college with originals.
  5. Later rounds and a stray vacancy round.

Domicile, category certificate formats, fees, bond and stipend rules are set in the state prospectus and change each year; read it on the official site above before you pay anything.
